Julia Brooks began working as an artist in 2006 and is still developing her style and technique. Her current paintings are predominantly based on still-life and landscape scenes, with a focus on colour and light. She uses planes of thickly applied, solid oil colour to emphasise these two elements and in this respect, is influenced by Euan Uglow and Paul Cezanne.
