Materials used
• Mountboard - acid-free, conservation standard mountboard is always used.
• Archival mounting strips - these contain polyester and acid-free card, which keep works in place on the mountboard without any adhesive contacting it.
• Acid-free, non-yellowing conservation tape - used to attach the window-mount to the backing-board and sometimes artwork to the mountboard.
• Canvas - Cotton & linen canvas is used, which has been doubled or triple primed.
• Primed card - some paintings are produced on 300gsm thickness (and above) acid-free paper, which has been coated with 3-4 layers of primer. • Paper - acid-free paper is used. Paper types include cartridge, Murano, Bockingford and Saunders Waterford.
